Dust Bond®
Dust Control: Dust Bond®is D & D’s Trademarked dust control product and is used as a dust suppressant as well as a soil stabilizer. It has been specially formulated using a virgin adhesive petroleum resin, which is suspended in a stable emulsion. It was developed to be an environmentally friendly way to solve dust control problems on dusty roads or unpaved industrial lots.
How does Dust Bond® work? – After being sprayed on a dusty surface, the cohesive resins from the Dust Bond® attach themselves to the dusty fine particles, clustering them into particles that are to large to become airborne.

C-23®Crack Filler and Pothole Patch
Crack Filler: C-23® is a specialized; hi-tech, cold pour filler and a long term solution to an ongoing problem.
Asphalt Cracks: Cracks due to embrittlement, evaporation of light oils, oxidation, sun, and wind exposure are a continuing problem with asphalt pavement of all types.
Solution: C-23® is a one component, cold pour emulsion that can be used effectively with a limited crew and no heat. No compressed air needed unless the cracks are packed completely to the level of the pavement with no room left for C-23®.
Application: In 95% of the cracks, C-23® can be poured or pumped through a wand into the cracks, covered by dirty sand and forgotten. It can be applied in cold (20ºF) or warm (130ºF) weather. It penetrates into the sides of the crack then seals the top to form a permanent bond to the asphalt and seal out intrusive rain water.

C-23® Used for Pothole Patch
Asphalt Potholes: C-23® is an emulsion which is specially formulated to be mixed with old asphalt millings and can also be used to patch potholes, utility cuts, and large cracks and gaps between roadways and berms or roadways and driveways. It softens the millings allowing good compaction to occur from traffic forming a permanent bond between the roadway and the patch. C-23® actually penetrates into the sides of the pothole or utility cut gluing the patch in place. It is used cold as shipped and can be mixed with the millings in place or in a wheelbarrow, and can be stored in a closed container for long periods of time (without setting up) and used later. NOTE: If millings are not available, any mixture of aggregate and fines may be substituted! The patch will still be permanent.
Application:
* Fill Pothole about half full of C-23®
* Mixing in asphalt millings (Mix so C-23® is fluent throughout millings).
* Mound dirty sand or asphalt millings over the pothole.
* Let traffic do the rest! Before Application
Directly After Application
One Year After Application!
Advantages of C-23®:
1. Inexpensive – Millings are available at a very reasonable cost, much less than new aggregate.
2. Permanent – You only patch potholes and cracks once. The patch then becomes part of the pavement.
3. Easy-to-Use – Simply mix C-23®with millings, fill the hole or crack, lightly tamp with shovel and it’s done. Traffic will do the rest.
4. Not Labor Intensive – One worker can patch potholes and cracks with C-23®
5. No Waste – Any unused premixed material can be stored in a closed container for future use.
6. Versatile – C-23® will work on concrete as well as asphalt.Benefits:
1. Save money by using millings instead of new aggregate. Help ease straining budgets.
2. Don’t have to patch and re-patch the same cracks and holes all the time.
3. Any worker can patch cracks and holes – No experience necessary.
4. Send only one worker to patch holes saving the rest of the crew for other jobs.
5. Mix any amount because it can be saved if all the patch is not used immediately – No Waste.
6. Only one patching system needed for concrete or asphalt – No need to store several patching materials.EPR-1 Prime®
EPR-1 Prime® is the first emulsified petroleum resin product to be used as a road prime and curing seal. Formulated in 1989 specifically to bring the paving industry a rapid curing, high performance prime to seal and protect mechanically prepared road surfaces prior to paving.
Uses:
1) EPR-1 Prime® is used as a road prime to seal and protect mechanically prepared road surfaces for paving. EPR-1 Prime’s® treated surfaces repel water from rain, sleet and snow that would normally damage the prepared base or sub-base material while maintaining the optimum moisture content in the base.2) EPR-1 Prime® can also be used as a curing seal for soil cement and lime treated bases.
3) EPR-1 Prime® can be used to reduce soil erosion on ditch banks, shoulders, etc. It will not harm vegetation and can aid germination of seeded areas by holding moisture in the soil while its dark color helps to raise the soil temperature.
4) EPR-1 Prime® can be used as a soil stabilizer and dust suppressant. This procedure requires special mixing and application instructions.
Advantages of using EPR-1 Prime®:
1) EPR-1 Prime® does not require heat during storage or application. It is safely applied at an ambient temperature.2) The fast curing will allow paving operations to begin in hours opposed to days, this will also reduce the size of the paving crew during the operation.
3) No sanding or blotting will be necessary while using EPR-1 Prime®. It will penetrate and cure quickly, which will allow traffic to resume as soon as curing is complete.
4) EPR-1 Prime® is shipped as a concentrated form which will reduce the costs of transportation, as well as storage requirements.
5) This stable emulsion will provide a long shelf life and will also reduce waste due to broken, microscopic materials.
6) EPR-1 Prime® is an environmentally friendly product and will pose no risk to the environment.

Jointbond®Jointbond® is a polymerized maltene emulsion designed to penetrate the newly placed pavement and stabilize the critical area surrounding the longitudinal construction joint. Jointbond® actually improves the chemistry of the in-place asphalt binder and adds a physical in-depth seal.Asphalt Longitudinal Joint Failure (Cracks):
1) Premature Joint Deterioration Reduces the Pavement Life-Cycle.
2) Worst problems for the majority of asphalt roadways.
3) Confirmed by Jim Sorenson, Senior Construction & Maintenance Engineer For The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Highway Administrator (FHA) at a LTAP Showcase held in Escambia County, Florida in early 2000.
Solution: Jointbond® is a product “Just For Asphalt Longitudinal Joints!” The goal was to formulate a product that could provide added strength as a means to fortify the joint and retard or prevent longitudinal separation.
Application: Jointbond® is spray applied to the joint area, approximately one and a half foot to either side of the joint. Jointbond® penetrates into the pavement surface, leaving no surface coating. Jointbond® will not damage any existing striping on the pavement.
Advantages of Jointbond®:
1) Helps prevent joint deterioration and separation (cracking and separating).
2) Quickly penetrates into the pavement.
3) Striping is not obliterated.
4) Can be used on all newer asphalt roadways (1 to 2 years old for best results!).
5) Treated areas become less susceptible to water and salt brine intrusion.

Golden Bear Products
Pioneered asphalt pavement rejuvenation in the 1950’s and has been the industry leader ever since. The products described below represent the standard of quality in the industry.
Coherex® Dust Retardant: Coherex® was developed through years of field research and laboratory testing; Coherex® is an economical and safe solution to your dust problem.Coherex® is a very stable emulsion of resins and water that:
1) Stabilizes soil against wind erosion.
2) Eliminates airborne dust.
3) Reduces the movement of soil along the ground.
4) Will not leach from soil once it is fully absorbed.
Coherex® creates a film coating on the dust particles, which in turn creates a cohesive membrane that attaches the dust particles to themselves, creating large “agglomerates” too heavy to be dislodged by wind or traffic.

CRF® Asphalt Repair: CRF® is an emulsified product comprised of a special asphalt emulsion and asphalt rejuvenating agent that provide several asphalt repair options. As a Crack Sealant, CRF®:
1) Fills cracks.
2) Patches potholes.
3) Repairs alligatored areas.
4) Is applied without heat, using conventional crack sealing equipment.
CRF® Crack Filler Application: In 95% of the cracks, CRF® can be poured or pumped through a wand into the cracks, covered by dirty sand and forgotten. It can be applied in cold (20ºF) or warm (130ºF) weather. It penetrates into the sides of the crack then seals the top to form a permanent bond to the asphalt and seal out intrusive rain water.
CRF® Crack Sealing
CRF® Restorative Seal: CRF® is the right asphalt repair choice once a pavement gets distressed to the point where rejuvenation alone is not enough and you need to begin to think of corrective maintenance. Applied as a cold cationic emulsion, the material will seal cracks, fill raveled areas, and help rejuvenate the existing pavement. Costing one half of other corrective procedures, Restorative Seal can help stretch the life of the pavement at low cost. CRF® Restorative Seal is formulated specifically to penetrate and rejuvenate aged asphalt pavements. It restores the aged binder and provides a deep seal that can last for many years. It is applied cold, with a conventional spray truck, followed by two or more pounds of sand per square yard.
HOW DO YOU APPLY CRF® RESTORATIVE SEAL? CRF® Restorative Seal is diluted with water 2:1 (2 parts product to 1 part water) or 1:1. Typical cure time is 20 minutes to one hour with minimum ambient temperature of 10° C or 50°F and rising. The product stability is excellent. There are several methods of application, which offer excellent results:
* RESTORATIVE SEAL: consists of distributor truck application at a predetermined rate of spread, allowed to cure and then sand is applied.* BROOM SEAL/ SCRUB SEAL: application of a predetermined rate of spread by distributor truck, sand application after curing followed by a broom system to even out and work the sand into more of the open areas. With traffic’s kneading action, CRF® will tighten up and seal the open areas.
* SQUEEGEE SEAL: is an excellent restorative seal method of initially filling open areas with CRF® by working the product into those areas with a rubber blade. A second application can be made, if required, after the first is allowed to cure. Sand and roll using a rubber-tired roller. This method will seal the surface; repair cracks and distressed sections at a low cost. This application is also used for “high production” crack filling.

Cyclogen®: Cyclogen® is an asphalt repair material composed of selected maltene and asphaltene fractions derived from petroleum. Offering benefits similar to Tricor engineered Reclamite® Rejuvenating Oil for fog seal surface treatment application, Cyclogen® increases penetration values / decreases micro viscosity, rebalancing the Asphalt components described below.Deterioration of Asphalt Pavement: Is the substantial chemical degradation changes such as a decrease in penetration and an increase in viscosity (A.K.A.-Embrittlement) of the asphalt cement take place during this short mixing period from both air oxidation and loss of maltene components.
Cyclogen® is available in:
1) Two grades that can be furnished in the form of oils (L.M.)2) Two grades furnished as cationic emulsions (LE, ME)
All grades of this asphalt repair and recycling agent provide durability by correcting the durability parameter (N+A1) / (P+A2) of the aged asphalt. The difference between the grades is based on viscosity and their effect on consistency of the recycled mix.
After the asphalt pavement has been prepared for recycling by breaking it up to the desired sieve size (usually 1 inch to 1 ½ inches or less), Cyclogen® will be the only additive required.
Cyclogen® is added in the emulsified form for cold recycling. Either the emulsion or oil is used in hot recycling depending on what type of mixing equipment is used.
Design nomographs for Cyclogen® have been developed and may be used by the engineer to predict the adjustment to the asphalt binder viscosity in the recycled pavement.
Cyclogen® Uses:
1) One component rejuvenator
2) Hot in place recycling (HIR) rejuvenator
3) Cold in place recycling (CIR) rejuvenator
4) Infrared Pavement Restoration
5) Asphalt Pugmill mixing rejuvenator
6) Available in two emulsions grades
7) Extremely stable with long shelf life
8) Excellent fluxing and co-mixing with the binder
9) Topical Application on Asphalt Millings
